Support to build a better future for Latvia

The companies of Eco Baltia group have integrated educational, social and environmental considerations in their business practice not only because of professional reasons, but also because the management of the company is personally convinced that successful and financially stable and positively orientated companies should not only support their employees, but also a wider society to build a better future for Latvia.

Education and culture

Support to the implementers of educational and cultural projects that advance accessibility to cultural processes and create positive conditions for personal growth of the youth is the priority of the company’s corporate social support activities. Among them there is SSE Riga Alumni Association and the Latvian National Library Fund, as well as the foundation GSND (Giftedness System for the Nation’s Development) that has determined its main goal to implement a training system for gifted children in Latvia.

Sport and sporting spirit in the spare time

Eco Baltia provides a long-term support to sports federations and athletes who not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but also provide various opportunities of spending the spare time for individuals of different ages, especially children and youth. Among the supported organizations there is the Latvian Federation of Orientation Sport, the Latvian Handball Federation, the Latvian Federation of Motoring sports, the Latvian Federation of Sports Schools, Golf Club in the city of Tukums, as well as Edgars Bertuks – the champion to win a gold medal in Orientation Sport in Latvia and the Baltics for several times.

Projects for sustainable environment development

A very essential Eco Baltia corporate social support tendency is supporting projects that advance a sustainable environment development. Since the beginning of its operations Eco Baltia group company Latvijas Zaļais Punkts (Green Dot Latvia) is supporting the Environmental Protection Club in realizing the research projects and providing the Green Line, and for several years has been one of the organizers of the movement Vislatvijas Lielā Talka (Big Cleanup Day in Latvia). However the animal shelter existing under the auspices of Eco Baltia group company Eko Kurzeme since 2009 has found homes for 300 abandoned, ill-fortunate four-legged friends – dogs and cats.

Second life for things in a charity project

There is a constant interest from the society in the charity project Palīdzības Siena (Wall of Help) that is implemented by Eko Rīga and Latvijas Zaļais Punkts (Green Dot Latvia) in cooperation with ziedot.lv and the shopping centre Spice. The project is simultaneously green and it is a charity project, because it gives a second life for things providing a very convenient possibility to give them to needy, low-income families. There are 257 tons of clothing and shoes donated in Palīdzības Siena during a period of one year.
